About Carrington M. Carter
Carrington is a former big pharma brand manager turned serial entrepreneur, wealth strategist, and real estate developer.
Carrington is Co-founder and President of McKinley Carter Enterprises (MCE), a real estate investment and property management company with more than $15M in residential and commercial properties under management across Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, and the country of Belize. Under the Getaway Society brand, the company owns and manages a network of vacation rental homes on Martha's Vineyard, Hilton Head, Gatlinburg, Orlando, and the Pocono Mountains. He is passionate about economic empowerment, wealth creation, building businesses, and uplifting the community, while living life on his own terms.
He is also Co-founder & General Partner of East Chop Capital (ECC), a private equity firm with a passion for action, helping businesses grow and delivering strong financial, educational, and social returns for investors. ECC was born from the idea and necessity of working together--pooling the resources of many, to accomplish much more than individuals can on their own. Its first fund is focused on the $114 billion global vacation rental market. Future investments will support companies in real estate, technology, financial services, media, and sports.

Prior to running MCE and ECC full-time, Carrington worked for 10 years in pharmaceutical marketing at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Abbott Laboratories, and inVentiv Health (now Syneos Health). Throughout his corporate career, he successfully marketed products in various stages of their life cycle, across therapeutic areas including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, antibiotics, and oncology. He gained significant experience working with diverse teams, matrix organizations, multi-million dollar budgets, and billion-dollar brands.
Carrington challenges people to maximize their potential by discovering their gifts and strengths, overcoming fear, and leveraging their network. He gives people the confidence to think outside the box by showing them how to diversify their income and not be solely dependent on their “9 to 5.” He equips people with the mindset and knowledge to produce extraordinary results and is dedicated to making the path to wealth creation easier for others.
In the community, he is active in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc. Carrington graduated from Hampton University with a BS in Chemistry. He also earned an MBA in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh. He enjoys reading, exercising, mentoring, traveling, and has been an avid investor for nearly 20 years. Carrington and his wonderful wife Kia reside in Columbus, OH.
